Features

A place where ancestral tablets of Joseon Dynasty kings and queens were enshrined and rituals were performed.
Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site (1995).
The Jongmyo Jerye, held annually in May, is the world's oldest ritual, ongoing since 1464.
Also designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2001).

Scheduled viewing (Mon/Wed/Thur/Fri, excluding last Wednesday and weekend of each month)
Closed Tuesdays (or following day if Tuesday is a national holiday).

Korean adult (25-64): KRW 1,000
Foreign adult (19-64): KRW 1,000
Free admission: Koreans under 24/over 65, Foreigners under 18/over 65
